SHINE! Digital is the first in a series of initiatives set up by Stageworx founder, Gemma Marinus, to promote creative thinking and encourage entrepreneurship and leadership skills in the younger generation of South Africa.
Creative thinking and the role of creativity in education have been underestimated for far too long. With the changing landscape of the world, the youth of today need creative pedagogy to support "out the box" thinking required for change.

SHINE! Digital features the students and alumni of Stageworx, alongside segments with St Vincent School for the Deaf, One to One Africa in Eastern Cape, and students from Trinityhouse Little Falls.
The screening explores the importance of creativity and SHINES a light on various community members and NPOs making change through the creative process.

The SHINE! Creative team includes Gemma Marinus, Bryan Schimmel, Dillonne Prince, and Mullin Krienke - Creative Director/Choreographer/Dancer with Matthew Marinus heading up the videography and content design with his team from @customcontentcollective.

Featured artists include Stageworx alumni @refentsemay with her original song Worthy, Bulelo Landman with Family Love Affair, and Jamie Nell with an original song Someday, written by fellow Stageworx student Rachel Ralphs. Other standout and thought-provoking numbers include a Michael Jackson Medley filmed at Constitution Hill (South Africa).

Gemma's vision is to create educational syllabuses that use creativity and performance as a way for young people to explore themselves and the world around them, allowing them to have the space to develop the skills needed for the future and share messages for change towards an inclusive society.
