HOW TO APPLY FOR FUNDING — A Practical Workshop for Creatives & Creative Businesses
Have a creative idea but not sure how to fund it?
This practical, full-day workshop is designed for artists, freelancers, creative entrepreneurs and business owners who want to better understand how funding works — and how to put together a stronger application.
Facilitated by Gemma Marinus, MBA, founder and director of Stageworx and creative consultant, the workshop will take you through the practical building blocks of preparing a funding application. Drawing on her experience in the creative sector, business development and sustainable creative careers, Gemma will help demystify the application process and give you tools you can use for your own projects.
During the day, we’ll explore where to find funding opportunities, what funders are looking for, which documents you need and why, how to structure and write a compelling proposal, and how to create a realistic project budget.
The focus is practical — helping you move from having a great idea to presenting that idea clearly, professionally and in a way that makes sense to potential funders.
Saturday 24 October
10:00am – 5:00pm
R950 per person
Open to individual artists, freelancers, entrepreneurs and creative business owners.
